Thai Yoga Bodywork
Thai Yoga Bodywork (aka Thai Massage) is an ancient form of bodywork that was developed over 2500 years ago in India. It is performed with the client fully-clothed, relaxing on a comfortable floor mat. A traditional Thai bodywork session lasts 2 hours and consists of fluid combinations of techniques that move, stretch, and twist the client while they are positioned on their back, front, side, and sitting cross-legged on the floor. It is based on traditional yoga postures, or asanas, and blends together gentle rocking, deep stretching, rhythmic compression, soft-tissue manipulation, energy balancing, and acupressure.
Vital Connections Massage & Bodywork offers Thai Yoga Bodywork as a wonderful tool to explore and connect deeply with body, mind, and spirit. By allowing our bodies to relax and gently investigate the depth of a stretch, the range of a joint, and the flow of energy both in movement and in stillness, our bodies naturally adjust and shift the edge of what is possible for us. Tension dissolves, holding patterns in the body melt away, energy flow is enhanced, and we find a more complete sense of peace.
